Quick question, I'm poking around in the settings, but haven't really found anything.

Is there a way to limit what users appear in the main stream? Ideally I'd like to have a few follows posts that only appear in lists.
I thought about setting up a main list and using that, but I couldn't find a way to default to a specific list when viewing the feed

I hope that makes sense!

Forte is a neat little fediverse server written by Mike Macgirvin. Pretty genius guy that has created a whole bunch of fedi software over the years.

Forte.diablocanyon2 is just a dev instance I spun up today to test out (hence my questions 😂)

It's always nice to see how helpful everyone in the fedi is 🙂

It seems the problem is that there's no way to make a list the "default stream".

But there is a way to make a list the default audience (the 'Audience' app).

Making a 'default stream' app is actually pretty hard. However, making a 'main stream' app is actually pretty easy.

First, open the Stream Filter and select the Main list (after you've created it). Copy the resulting URL. It will look something like 'https://example.com/stream/?f=&gid=123'.

Click the hamburger menu and scroll down to 'Installed Apps'. Select that and then 'Manage Apps' and finally 'Create Custom App'.

Give it a name - maybe 'Main'. Paste the URL you copied into the Location (URL) field. You can put 'list-alt' into the photo icon URL. that's the stream icon. Save your new app, install it (if necessary), and 'pin' it to the navbar. Then you'll have an app at the top of the page that takes you directly to your Main list. Best solution I can come up with at the moment.
